About Ledger

Heyoo, it’s Rog.. founder / creator of The Ledger, a project five years in the making that’s finally here. This whole adventure kicked off during my days at Chico State, armed with a film camera and zero clue what I was doing. What I did know? I loved the vibrant, expressive photos that came out, even when they were what most would call “overexposed.”

I’ve been surrounded by passionate and proud cultures my whole life, starting from my birth in Toulouse, France. Though my stay in Toulouse was brief (and no, I don’t have the accent), my upbringing was steeped in European vibes – think late dinners, the Tour de France as a summer soundtrack, and a hearty diet of red meat.

San Diego is where Ive called my home – America’s finest city. From our sports teams’ legendary fails to discovering at 11 years old that not everyone grows up with a beach, San Diego has my heart. Going to college in Northern California, there was an instant bond with anyone from “San Diego” – a shared nod to the good life we’ve led and how proud we were to be able to quote Anchorman.

Inspired by the artistic edge of brands like RVCA, Former, Rhythm, Sun Spirit, and Banks Journal, I wanted The Ledger to stand out similarly. Here, the art takes center stage, with framed prints being the main event and apparel as a fun side gig. The foundation of our products is film photos taken over the years, layered with graphic art.

Each collection tells a story, sticking with a palette of black, white, and grey. But stay tuned – more color will sneak in through the film and graphics over time.

We’ve got big plans for The Ledger, with future phases including a magazine, short films, and other creative outlets. For now, every cent from our initial collections gets reinvested, especially into crafting sustainable, custom-fit apparel.

So, this is my Ledger. Dive in, enjoy, and don’t hold back – let me know what you love and what you hate about every piece we create.

Cheers,
Rog
